As I have written in my statement good landscape photographs need a lot more than just a stunning place or a mesmerizing light situation. They evolve from personal experiences that go beyond the features of a place but come from the individual reception of all elements of a moment at a place - may they be inner feelings or external factors. Having said that, I want to make a point that places do matter for me nonetheless. They play a key role in the experiences I seek and by that in the photographs I make. A vista of a wild mountain lake allows me to unplug, the scent of a forest after a rainshower helps me breath deeply.
As a studied geographer I have a good excuse to give places a prominent position and to order my portfolio geographically for the most part. So here you'll find galleries for regions of the world that I'm drawn to. Not simply galleries for countries, but for contiguous eco-regions. They tend to be rather tempered or cool, rather fresh and forested and rather mountainuous and diverse. And you'll find one gallery that Showcases an individual and personal view on "Intimate Landscapes".
