Sand Stone World
All landscapes of the world have been and are being shaped by the elements. Frost, wind, water and sunlight continuously erode what was sedimented or rised ages ago. There a few places on earth where this never-ending process of re-shaping of the landscape through the forces of nature are as obvious as on the Colorado Plateau in the southwestern United States. Once a giant ocean basin it was elevated up to several thousand meters and is now sculpted by mostly water and time. It is ironic, that such a dry place is being shaped to intensely by water. The sand stone of the Colorado Plateau is cut into pieces leaving the originally flat basin dotted with canyons. It's a marvelous place to photograph.
